Don Robbins

Frank Robbins (Bryan’s Grandfather) started floor refinishing in 1920 in Kansas City scraping and hand sanding floors. He purchased his first sanding machine from American Lincoln Co. in 1952. Frank had 7 sons that grew up in the business laying, sanding and refinishing hardwood floors. Don Robbins, Frank’s sixth son, worked for his father until he went into the U.S. Navy in 1952. When Don was discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1956, he returned to his father’s business.

Don started his own company, Robbins Hardwood Floors, in 1961 working areas up to 75 miles away from his hometown of McLouth, KS encompassing Atchison, Leavenworth, Holton, Platte City and Topeka. Don retired in 1992 and turned his business over to Bryan Robbins, one of his 2 sons.

Bryan, a 3rd generation wood flooring professional, has been growing the family business and continuing his family’s legacy.
